Firstly, welcome to Dr Logic. We're so excited that you have joined us!
We know that joining a new company and learning a new role can be both exciting and a bit overwhelming, but we’re here to support you every step of the way and we want you to try and have fun! We were all new once and we want to ensure your onboarding is as smooth as possible. No question is too silly to ask!
Our handbook is intended to provide you with some useful information you’ll need from your first day working with us, to signposting our full policies and procedures and is our guide to working life at Dr Logic.
If you need further information on anything, please speak to your manager
We hope you find the handbook a useful read and we wish you a long, happy and successful career at Dr Logic.
Induction
Throughout your first few weeks, you'll receive structured induction training and spend time working with your manager and more experienced colleagues. Induction will cover general Dr Logic onboarding in addition to area and role-specific onboarding to ensure you understand the basic day to day tasks your position entails, who your colleagues are, what our culture is and our expectations of you.
To help with this, we suggest you familiarise yourself with our website , policies and handbook.
Probation
Your 6 month probationary period is designed to give you an opportunity to learn your role, work closely with colleagues who can support you with training and advice and allow you to become familiar with our systems and operating procedures. Throughout your probationary period you will have regular conversations with your manager and work together to ensure your performance, attitude and behaviour is at the required level to excel in your role.
It is always our preference to offer support and training to help our new team members to flourish. If you are below the required standard at the end of your probationary period, we may extend the period to allow for further training and development. Alternatively, depending on the circumstances, your employment may be ended. During this period, you may also decide that the role is not for you and opt to leave Dr Logic.
Once you have finished your probation period, we have a comprehensive training program which details the qualifications we expect you to achieve and how you can progress in your role. Further details regarding training can be found in the training section or please speak to your manager.
Who is Who!
You’ll have already learned some names and met some people during your interview process and in your first few days, your focus be on getting to know your colleagues in your team. A full run down of who is who can be found on our team page.
At the end of each month we have a company wide online huddle and that will give you opportunity to meet everyone in the company (albeit as a tiny face on a screen). We'll also ask you to say a few words to introduce yourself at your first one. We aim to meet up as a company at least twice a year.
Everyone is on slack and that is our main method of internal communication. You can direct message a colleague or an entire team. There are other channels to share useful company information such as “announcements” and “HR-Health and Safety” along with channels that are not so work related such as “culture-pets” where people share photos of the animals in their lives!
Slack Etiquette
Keeping your Slack status updated is important not only for smooth communication but also as a welfare check, helping managers and colleagues know you are safe and available. For further details on our welfare procedure, please refer to the Health and Safety Policy.
LinkedIn
It would be great if you could update your LinkedIn profile to reflect your new role at Dr Logic and to connect with fellow colleagues and over time engage with our clients and partners (where appropriate).
We have a branded banner ready for you. Please reach out to marketing in slack to grab it.
Keeping an eye on our company page and interacting with our posts helps boost our visibility, raise brand awareness, and grow our network. If you have any ideas for content across our marketing channels, please speak with marketing as we’d love your input!
Roman Marszalek, our CEO, is the Dr Logic. This was a nickname given to him by one of his clients, before he had even set up the original limited company. And it's stuck.
Roman, with a rich background as a web developer and usability expert at Trilogy, had notably contributed to projects for giants like Ericsson and Ford. However, the burst of the internet bubble in mid-2001 led to his layoff and instead of seeking another corporate role, Roman embraced the opportunity to chart his own course, driven by a desire for autonomy and a significant affinity for Macs, a passion that dated back to the mid-'80s. His entrepreneurial venture began as a sole trader in web development, graphic design, and Mac support, with the latter quickly emerging as his forte.
The decision to work independently was fuelled not just by Roman's quest for freedom but also by his conviction that he could make a more substantial impact outside the confines of a large organisation. His experience at Trilogy had underscored the importance of user-friendly technology—a principle that became a cornerstone of his new venture. Roman was determined to stand on the side of the user, simplifying technology to enhance accessibility and utility.
His goal was to assemble a team who shared his zeal for exceptional customer service, Roman embarked on a modest beginning. He navigated London by bike, a backpack laden with Macs and hardware for repair or delivery, embodying the spirit of a grassroots entrepreneur. The journey was fraught with challenges, from financial strains exemplified by paying rent on a credit card to legal confrontations with Apple over his business name, initially dubbed ApplePro.
But he always had a vision.
And that vision was to empower success through technology - not just his own personal success but also the success of his clients.
Questions/requests that need a faster/same-day response
Social conversations, interesting links, chit-chat
Realtime conversations
Sharing some quick praise, love, gratitude, achievements
Passing along non-urgent need-to-knows (often prefaced by “No reply necessary”)
Slack is NOT the best place for:
High-level discussions
Making big decisions
Giving in-depth feedback
The 11 Slack Agreements of Dr Logic
You’re responsible for managing your downtime. It’s important that people can talk to each other even when the recipient is not around. If we’re each responsible for our own downtime (i.e. setting yourself up on Do Not Disturb when you’re offline, not working, or in-the-zone; controlling notifications on your phone if you choose to install Slack there), we give the rest of the team full freedom to communicate as they like. It’s your responsibility then to deal with the message when you’re ready. (Tip: mark unread, star or click “remind me” for any items you need to take action on so you don’t forget!)
Default to public channels: When in doubt, always post a message where everyone can read it. Keep everyone updated on stuff that is not private!
Use status and profile to communicate availability: Share your status to let folks know when you’re out sick, on annual leave or just deep in a focus period.
Be deliberate about your notifications: We recommend keeping Slack’s recommended notification settings: only direct messages, @yous and highlighted words. These settings eliminate worry about missing important messages, without your phone or computer going off all day with less important conversations.
Communicate proactively: When you ping someone, give that person all the context they'll need in order to get back to you. (e.g., no need to message "Hi Roman!" and then wait for a reply before saying more). Do include links, docs, your deadline or desired response time, and anything that can move the conversation forward asynchronously.
Thread when you can: Using threads to reply to specific points helps us all keep up with the conversations we need to follow.
Quit or modify Slack when you need to focus: In addition to quitting the app, you have the option to set yourself away, or activate Do Not Disturb, or set your status to a focus mode when you want to focus on something without being interrupted.
Don’t keep checking messages in Slack constantly: Having unread messages on Slack doesn’t mean you have to read them immediately! Let people get on with their work, while you get on with yours. Save message-checking for when you are out of your focus zone.
@channel or @here?: Including @channel in a message will notify everyone that’s in the chat room, but using @here will only notify the people who happen to be online at that moment. For non-urgent announcements, @here is always best. Use @channel and @everyone for emergencies only – it sends push notifications to everyone, including people who may be offline or on vacation.
Response times: How fast should you expect a reply to a question or request you made of a teammate on Slack? You can expect a reply by the end of their normal workday, assuming: You’ve reached out to the teammate specifically by @-ing them (or sending them a DM if the content is sensitive) You didn’t share a specific deadline (always do this when you can!)
Huddles?: Don't just call someone on Slack. Rather book a meeting in their calendar and create an agenda or give context to what the meeting is about. If you need to speak urgently, message first and then call on Slack.
Urgent Situations and Emergencies
For urgent announcements, an @channel message sends push notifications to everyone in a given channel and @everyone notifies everyone on the team—including people who may be off work for the day or on vacation, so make sure it’s a real emergency!
If you need to reach a specific teammate for an urgent question or request, please make sure the word URGENT is in the message.
At Dr Logic, we don’t ship code, bottles, or policies. We keep teams working, systems running and we solve problems.
We deliver: Peace of mind. Productivity. Trust.
We are IT-as-a-Service (ITaaS) and that means our people are the product. How we behave is who we are and we are proud of that. Unlike software or FMCG brands, we don’t have a “thing” that speaks for itself. We speak through our service
And when things go wrong, as they sometimes do, our clients trust us because they’ve seen our standards in action. They know we’ll do everything we can to make it right.
That’s why the highest standards aren’t optional, they’re essential. Because you are what our clients buy into.
You are the service. You are the product. You are Dr Logic.
Values
Our carefully crafted set of values guide everything we do, from our day-to-day work, to the way we make decisions and interact with one another. These values are central to maintaining the high standards, collaborative spirit, and supportive environment that define our culture.
We believe that success comes from building cohesive, high-performing teams that are deeply aligned with our mission and culture. While our recruitment process ensures that new team members share these values, it is equally important that we continue to live and nurture them throughout every stage of your journey with us.
By fostering a workplace culture that reflects our shared beliefs and aspirations, we create an environment where everyone can thrive. This ongoing commitment to our values contributes to a positive workplace atmosphere, higher employee satisfaction and the overall success of Dr Logic.

Integrity guides every decision and action. It's about honesty, fairness, and respect in all our dealings, ensuring that we build and maintain trust, both within our team and in our external relationships. Upholding this is fundamental to our identity and success.

It encapsulates both personal and professional development, fostering innovation, and striving for excellence. Each step upward symbolises our commitment to advancing skills, knowledge, and achieving new heights.
Contribution
Building value
Contribution is about making a lasting, impactful difference. Each contribution, big or small, is intended to create long-term value and enrich those we interact with. It's about ensuring that our work leaves a positive and enduring legacy.
Engagement
Getting involved
Engagement is where every member is not only committed to their individual role but also deeply engaged with the team. It's about being mentally and emotionally invested, contributing to a positive and collaborative culture, and driving collective excellence through active and thoughtful participation.
Ownership
Being accountable
Ownership is about every team member wholeheartedly embracing their individual responsibilities, recognising that their dedication and commitment are crucial to the success of their team and the company. It's about being a vital part of something greater, where each person's role is essential, allowing the entire organisation to flourish and succeed.
Curiosity
Embracing wonder
It’s about approaching each day with fresh eyes, asking “why” and “what if,” and finding fascination in both the familiar and the unknown. This mindset transforms routine into opportunity, keeps us energised and innovative, and ensures we remain open to new possibilities and perspectives. It’s the spark that prevents complacency, drives breakthrough thinking, and keeps us genuinely excited to tackle challenges, no matter our experience or expertise.
General Day to Day Principles
By living the values above, the high standards of professionalism that will be demonstrated by you, an employee on a day to day basis include:
Being punctual for the start of work and to keep within the break times
To give regular attendance at work and to minimise all absenteeism
To be courteous, helpful, and polite to all those with whom you have contact
To devote all your time and attention whilst at work to Dr Logic and to ensure that all its property including confidential information, records, equipment, information technology etc is kept safe and used correctly
To comply with all Dr Logic rules, policies and regulations and to observe and perform all the terms of your employment as set out or referred to in your Contract of Employment
Completing any internal and external training set in a timely manner
Wear any uniform supplied and keep it clean and presentable
Behaviour outside of working hours will only become an issue if the activities adversely affect Dr Logic eg: adverse publicity, bringing Dr Logic's name into disrepute, or actions that result in loss of faith in Dr Logic or the individual resulting in loss of business. The detriment suffered by Dr Logic will determine the level of misconduct and it will also determine which disciplinary stage is most appropriate to suit the circumstances. If the actions cause extreme embarrassment or serious damage to Dr Logic’s reputation or image, a decision may be taken to terminate the employment.
Uniform Guidelines
We expect you to wear your Dr Logic uniform during work hours. We'll order uniform for you, but please be aware that there can sometimes be delays in receiving certain items. It’s important that your uniform is looked after and laundered regularly so it stays clean and presentable at all times.
While we aim to provide what’s needed, we’re not able to supply unlimited uniform, particularly for higher-cost items like soft shell jackets. If you need any additional uniform, please raise a People ticket - people@drlogic.com - and we’ll be happy to help where we can.
Business Conduct
Dr Logic has numerous policies that cover business conduct and you should refer to these for full explanations of what is expected of you. You will also be asked to sign many of these policies in Bamboo to confirm your understanding.

Your Personal Guide to Continuous Learning and Professional Growth
Hey there, Dr Logic team member!
This playbook isn't a manual you need to read cover to cover. Think of it as your personal learning toolkit, where you can pick and choose what works for you right now. Some people might dive into certifications first. Others might want to build daily learning habits. Maybe you're just curious about where to start. That's all perfect.
Here's what this playbook is:
A collection of ideas and resources to fuel your curiosity
Practical strategies you can use during your workday
A reference guide you'll come back to over time
Support for wherever you are in your learning journey
Here's what this playbook isn't:
A mandatory program you must complete
Something you need to do outside work hours
A sequential course with prerequisites
Another thing to stress about
How to Use This Playbook
Start Small: Pick ONE section that interests you. Maybe it's daily learning habits, or understanding certifications, or finding learning resources. Start there.
Make It Yours: Not everything will resonate with you, and that's okay. Take what works, leave what doesn't, and adapt everything to fit your style.
It's Work Time: Everything in this playbook is designed to happen during your workday. Learning isn't something extra. It's part of how we work better at Dr Logic.
Come Back Often: This is a reference guide. You don't need to remember everything. Just know it's here when you need it.
Share Your Journey: The #curiosity-exchange channel is where we all learn together. Share what works, ask questions, celebrate wins, and learn from struggles.
Where to Start
Feeling overwhelmed? Here are some gentle starting points:
Why should I read further? → Start at “Module 1: Our Learning Philosophy“
Just curious? → Jump to "Module 3: Building Your Curiosity Mindset"
Interested in certifications? → See "Module 6: Certification Pathways"
Looking for resources? → Browse "Module 8: Learning Resources"
Need motivation? → Read "Module 2: Why Learning Matters"
Your Learning Modules
Each module stands alone, utilising the modules which resonate with you. Though it is suggested to start with Modules 1-3 as they provide some valuable context.
At Dr Logic, we believe curiosity isn't just one of our values, it's the engine that drives all the others. When we're curious, we naturally demonstrate all our ICECOG values:
Integrity: We seek truth and understanding, not just quick fixes
Curiosity: We actively explore and question
Engagement: We're present and interested in our work
Contribution: Our learning benefits clients and teammates
Ownership: We take charge of our professional development
Growth: Every question leads to new capabilities
Our philosophy is simple: The best IT professionals aren't those who know everything. They're those who are excited to learn anything.
Learning at Work, Not After Work
Important: Everything in this playbook happens during your workday. We don't expect you to study after hours. Learning is part of your job at Dr Logic, not something extra.
When learning happens at Dr Logic:
First 15 minutes of quiet mornings
During slower periods between tickets
While researching solutions for clients/users
In dedicated learning time set with your manager
During team meetings and discussions
As part of solving new problems
The key is recognising that learning isn't separate from work. It IS work. When you're learning, you're working. When you're working, you're learning.
Why Curiosity Powers Everything
Think about your last really satisfying day at work. Chances are, it involved:
Solving a tricky problem
Understanding something new
Helping someone with your knowledge
Feeling confident in your abilities
All of these come from curiosity and continuous learning. When we stop learning, work becomes repetitive. When we keep learning, work stays interesting.
Module 2: Why Learning Matters
What's In It For You?
Immediate Benefits (This Week)
Confidence: Every new thing you learn makes you feel more capable
Problem Solving: More knowledge means more solutions
Interesting Days: Learning makes routine tasks engaging
Less Stress: Understanding systems reduces anxiety
Recognition: Colleagues notice and appreciate growth
Medium Term Benefits (This Quarter)
New Challenges: You're trusted with more interesting work
Team Respect: Become the person people ask for help
Clear Direction: Exploring helps you find what you enjoy
Stronger Network: Learning connects you with others
Personal Satisfaction: Visible progress feels great
Long Term Benefits (This Year and Beyond)
Deep Expertise: Become truly excellent at what you do
Industry Recognition: Certifications and knowledge matter
Professional Security: Continuous learners are always valuable
Personal Brand: Become known for your expertise
The Compound Effect
Consider two team members:
Alex spends 15 minutes daily learning. After one year, that's 65 hours of learning.
Sam doesn't prioritise learning. After one year, Sam is solving problems the same way.
Who feels more confident? Who handles new challenges better? Who enjoys work more?
Small daily investments in learning compound into massive differences over time.
Learning Makes Work Better
When you understand why something works, not just how to fix it:
Troubleshooting becomes detective work, not guesswork
Client conversations become educational, not stressful
New technologies become exciting, not intimidating
Problems become puzzles, not obstacles
Work becomes growth, not repetition
Module 3: Building Your Curiosity Mindset
From "I Don't Know" to "I'll Find Out"
The biggest barrier to learning isn't intelligence or time. It's mindset. Here's how to reinforce yours:
The Power of "Yet"
Transform limiting thoughts by adding one word:
"I don't understand Jamf... yet"
"I can't troubleshoot network issues... yet"
"I haven't passed that certification... yet"
This simple word changes a permanent limitation into a temporary state.
The Beginner's Advantage
Being new to something is actually powerful:
Beginners ask the questions experts forget to ask
Fresh eyes spot things familiar eyes miss
Learning alongside others builds stronger teams
Everyone was once terrible at what they do
Overcoming Common Learning Barriers
"I Don't Have Time"
Reality Check: Track your day for one week. Most people find pockets of time they didn't realise existed.
The Solution: Trade low-value time for learning:
Arrive 15 minutes early for quiet learning
Convert dead time between meetings
Listen to podcasts during routine tasks
Remember: Learning during work hours is encouraged at Dr Logic. It's not stealing time; it's investing it.
"It's Too Technical for Me"
Reality: Every technical person started knowing nothing. The difference? They started learning.
The Ladder Approach: Don't jump to the top, climb step by step:
Understand the concept (What is MDM?)
Recognise the symptoms (What does MDM failure look like?)
Learn basic troubleshooting (How do I check MDM status?)
Understand the fixes (How do I resolve MDM issues?)
Learn optimisation (How do I prevent MDM issues?)
"I Learn but Forget"
The Solution: The Remember Forever Framework:
Learn it (watch/read/listen)
Note it (write key points)
Do it (practice immediately)
Teach it (explain to someone)
Use it (apply within 48 hours)
Share it (post in #curiosity-exchange)
"I'm Afraid of Looking Stupid"
The Truth: The only stupid thing is pretending to know when you don't.
At Dr Logic, we celebrate questions because:
Everyone has knowledge gaps
Questions show engagement
Admitting unknowns demonstrates integrity
Your question helps others who were afraid to ask
Good questions to ask without embarrassment:
"Can you help me understand why we do it this way?"
"What would happen if we didn't do this step?"
"I understand X, but how does Y fit in?"
"Where would I go to learn more about this?"
Creating Your Personal Learning Identity
Choose an identity that resonates with you:
The Explorer 🗺️ You love trying new tools and technologies. You're first to volunteer for new projects and share discoveries.
The Deep Diver 🏊 You become the expert in specific areas. You read documentation thoroughly and create comprehensive guides.
The Connector 🔗 You link people with resources, build learning communities, and facilitate knowledge sharing.
The Translator 🌍 You make complex things simple, bridge technical and non-technical, and create clear explanations.
The Builder 🔨 You learn by doing, create tools and solutions, and share practical applications.
Pick one that feels right, but don't box yourself in. You can evolve over time.
Module 4: Daily Learning Habits
Small Daily Practices for Everyone
The Morning Momentum (5 minutes)
Start each day with intention:
Check #curiosity-exchange for recent posts
Set a learning intention: "Today I'll understand..."
Review yesterday's learning: What stuck?
Share your intention if it might help others
The Ticket Teaching Moment
Transform every ticket/case into learning:
Before starting: What don't I know about this issue?
During resolution: What am I learning as I work?
After closing: What would I do differently next time?
Bonus: Share insights in #curiosity-exchange
The End of Day Reflection (3 minutes)
Before logging off:

One thing I'm curious about for tomorrow
One win from applied knowledge
Optional: Share with the team

The Automation Mindset
Daily efficiency thinking:
What did I do twice today that could be automated?
What manual process took too long?
What could a script or tool handle?
Who could help me automate this?
Remember: You don't need to write scripts yourself. Recognising automation opportunities and working with others to implement them is valuable too.

Our Slack channel is where learning comes alive. Here's how to make the most of it:
What to Share
Questions (All questions welcome!):
"Can someone explain how SSO actually works?"
"Why do we restart things to fix them?"
"What's the difference between Jamf Pro and Jamf Now?"
"How does FileVault encryption work?"
Discoveries:

How to Post Effectively
Keep it simple and clear:
🤔 QUESTION: How does Time Machine actually work?
Context: Client asking about backup reliability
What I've tried: Checked Apple docs but still confused
💡 TIL: You can Option-click the WiFi icon for diagnostics
How I found out: Troubleshooting connection issue
Why it's useful: Shows signal strength and channel info
📚 RESOURCE: Great Jamf 200 study guide
Link: [URL]
Why it's good: Practice questions included
Who should check it out: Anyone pursuing Jamf 200
🎉 WIN: Automated our daily reports!
What I did: Worked with team to create script
Impact: Saves 30 minutes daily
How others can benefit: Template available
💥 LESSON: Don't delete MDM profiles without checking
What happened: Accidentally removed management
How to avoid: Always check System Settings first
What I learned: Recovery takes time
Documentation That Helps
Good documentation:
Saves future you from relearning
Helps colleagues avoid your struggles
Builds team knowledge
Shows professional growth
Teaching Others
You don't need to be an expert to teach. You just need to know something someone else doesn't.
Micro-Mentoring Opportunities
Daily chances to share:
"I'm about to configure JumpCloud. Want to watch?"
"Just learned this Terminal trick. Want to see?"
"Figuring out this Jamf policy. Join me?"
These small moments build team knowledge and confidence.
Module 10: Practical Strategies
Finding Time to Learn (During Work)
The Time Audit
Track your workday for one week. Look for:
Quiet morning periods
Gaps between meetings
Waiting time
Slow ticket periods
Process inefficiencies
Most people find 60-90 minutes of potential learning time daily.
Smart Time Strategies
The Two-Minute Rule: Can you learn it in two minutes? Do it now:
Read a quick tip
Watch a short video
Try a keyboard shortcut
Review a flashcard
The Pomodoro for Learning:
25 minutes focused learning
5 minute break
Perfect for certification study
Fits between other tasks
Energy Management: Match learning to your energy:
High energy: Complex new topics
Medium energy: Practice and review
Low energy: Videos and podcasts
Learning Styles That Work
Visual Learners
You learn best by seeing:
Watch video tutorials
Create diagrams
Use screenshots
Color-code notes
Draw network diagrams
Audio Learners
You learn best by hearing:
Listen to podcasts
Attend webinars
Talk through problems
Join discussions
Record yourself explaining
Hands-On Learners
You learn best by doing:
Set up test environments
Try everything yourself
Type out notes
Practice immediately
Build and rebuild
Building Technical Understanding
You don't need to become a developer. You need to understand enough to:
Recognise what's happening
Communicate with technical team members
Explain to clients
Troubleshoot effectively
Know when to escalate
Understanding Without Coding
Reading Scripts: You don't write them, but you can understand them:
What's the purpose? (Usually in comments)
What does it change? (Look for keywords)
Is it risky? (Does it delete or modify?)
What are the requirements? (Admin rights? Specific OS?)
Terminal Confidence: Start with safe commands:
# Mac commands everyone should know:
ls # List files
pwd # Show current directory
ping google.com # Test connectivity
top # See running processes
diskutil list # See drives
# Useful for troubleshooting:
dscacheutil -flushcache # Flush DNS
caffeinate # Prevent sleep
softwareupdate -l # Check for updates
system_profiler # System information

You're not alone in this journey
This playbook is a living document. As we learn and grow together, so will this guide.
At Dr Logic, your wellbeing is our top priority. If at any point during your employment you have concerns or issues related to your health, happiness, or overall wellness, please reach out to your manager.
We understand that life isn’t always predictable and there may be times when you’re dealing with short-term personal challenges, such as the illness of a loved one, a relationship breakdown, or another difficult situation. Please don’t hesitate to let us know, we want to support you through those times with understanding and flexibility
We are also committed to providing the resources and assistance you need to feel your best and thrive in your role. Whether you're struggling with a particular aspect of your work, feeling unclear about your responsibilities, or facing challenges within your team, it’s important to speak up. If you’re not enjoying your role day to day, we want to understand why and work with you to find a positive way forward.
Additionally, if you're diagnosed with a medical condition or have an existing medical issue, please let us know as soon as possible. This allows us to make any necessary adjustments and ensure you receive the right support to help you perform and feel your best at work.
Anything you share with us regarding your wellbeing will be treated with confidence. However, in some cases, it may be necessary to share relevant information with others, such as HR or your manager, to ensure you receive the most appropriate support. Where information does need to be shared, we will always make you aware and ensure it is handled sensitively and responsibly.
Internal Resources
In addition to your manager, the range of internal resources we have available to support your well-being include:
access to trained Mental Health First Aiders
wellbeing-related courses available on the LMS
our HR team (raise a ticket via people@drlogic.com)
A number of employee benefits also support your wellbeing including private healthcare, dental care and the cycle to work scheme. These are detailed below and in the pay, benefits & perks section.
External Resources
We also have a range of external resources available to you:
Bupa
Once you have passed probation, you will be asked if you would like to be enrolled onto Bupa for both healthcare and dental care. By joining, you will gain access to a suite of benefits designed to support your physical and mental wellbeing including virtual GP appointments, physiotherapy, mental health support and reimbursement of dental fees (up to certain limits). In addition, perks such as discounted gym membership are offered.
Once enrolled onto Bupa you should receive a membership pack for each service you are enrolled on with your membership number. Please keep this safe as you will need this if you need to contact them.
No information is ever given to Dr Logic on who may have accessed Bupa services.
YuLife
Once you have passed probation you will be automatically added to the Company's death in service policy. It is strongly recommended that you complete the beneficiary form via the app without delay (an invite will be emailed to you).
You do not need to engage with the app any further, however the platform is designed to help you build healthier habits while earning rewards by tracking your activities like walking, meditation, and cycling.
By completing these tasks, you earn YuCoin, a digital currency that can be redeemed for vouchers from brands such as Tesco, Amazon, and Nike, or donated to charitable causes.
The app also provides access to virtual GP services, cessation smoking tool and an Employee Assistance Program. Your Bupa cover can also be accessed here too.
External Charities
There are several UK-based charities that focus on mental health and wellbeing and we have listed a few below. We may be able to help and guide you further on external support available once we understand the nature of your issue.
Mind: A mental health charity offering information, support and advocacy for individuals experiencing mental health challenges
Andy's Man Club: A men's mental health charity that facilitates peer-to-peer support groups across the UK, encouraging men to talk openly about their mental health
Hub of Hope: A comprehensive mental health support directory that allows users to find local and national mental health services tailored to their needs
Samaritans: Offering a 24/7 helpline, Samaritans provides confidential emotional support to anyone in distress, helping people find a way through their problems
Your Working Environment
The company's Health and Safety policy is in place to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of all employees and that your working environment is safe. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your working environment, please raise these with your manager.
Employees who work frequently from home are eligible for an allowance of up to £200 to ensure their working environment is suitable and fulfils our health and safety obligations as an employer.
If you need any further equipment, please raise a People ticket so we can support you accordingly.
Dr Logic obtains independent advice on Health and Safety matters from Relyon Safety Services.
Bamboo
Bamboo is our HR portal and is where we keep important information such as your contact details, address and phone number. We also ask that you provide at least one emergency contact. It’s really important to keep this information up to date, as it may be needed in an emergency or if we ever have to carry out a welfare check. For more details on how welfare checks work, please see the Health & Safety Policy.

Those who have received a salary increased within the past 6 months
Those who have resigned or are being dismissed
An annual discretionary bonus is in operation for all direct employees with the exception of sales roles. Eligibility is the same as the salary review policy.
A bonus pool will be generated linked to company profitability and business success during 2025. Allocations will be determined by the Leadership team and managers (payments will be pro-rated for employees that joined part way through 2025).
It is expected the bonus relating to 2025 performance will be paid by April 2026.

EOS -Entrepreneurial Operating System is the basic set of practices, tools and disciplines by which the Leadership Team has decided to run the Company. It has been proven effective in over 500 companies worldwide over the last 12 years.
Objectives
EOS is designed to achieve three basic objectives:
Vision - Get everyone on the same page as to where we are going as a company and how we will get there.
Traction - Using effective meetings and tools, we will gain traction in executing on our Vision.
Healthy - By working to be open and honest with one another, we will say what needs to be said with respect and confidence so that we become a healthier, more cohesive team serving our clients/customers.
The Process
Vision: Strengthening this component means getting everyone in the company 100% on the same page with where we’re going and how we’re going to get there.
People: We can’t do it without great people. This means surrounding ourselves with great people, top to bottom, because we can’t achieve a great vision without a great team.
Data: This means cutting through all the feelings, personalities, opinions, and egos and boiling Dr Logic down to a handful of objective numbers that give an absolute pulse on where things are.
Issues: Strengthening this component means becoming great at solving problems throughout the company – setting them up, knocking them down, and making them go away forever.
Process: This means “systemising” by identifying and documenting the core processes that define the way we run Dr Logic. Getting everyone on the same page with what the essential procedural steps are, and then everyone following them to create consistency and scalability.
Traction: This means bringing discipline and accountability into Dr Logic– becoming great at execution – taking the vision down to the ground and making it real.
The Five Foundational Tools of EOS
Vision/Traction Organiser (V/TO): is unique because it organises both the Vision Component™ of Dr Logic and includes the plan to make that vision a reality.
Accountability Chart: Shows the “seats” in the company, who reports to whom, and what roles each person plays when filling his/her seat. This helps us understand clear accountability to one another and shows us how we must all work together as a team.
Rocks: is simply a term we use for quarterly goals. Each person will have from one – three rocks, sometimes more. They are special projects to accomplish for that quarter that will advance your career or Dr Logic efficiency and competitive edge.
Meeting Pulse: is a specific agenda you and your team and manager will use in a weekly “Level 10 Meeting” with your department. This agenda makes the meetings efficient and effective, and covers key matters to keep everyone on track to achieve rocks and other company goals
Scorecards: is a weekly measurement of key numbers that, if achieved, will help us meet our monthly goals.
The information provided below serves as an introductory overview to Dr Logic's policies and is not exhaustive. It is intended to guide you in locating and understanding the relevant policies in the future.

All annual leave requests must be made via Bamboo and approved by your manager before you make any non-refundable booking.

You are required to make up for any time lost and you might be asked to alter or reschedule an appointment if suitable cover cannot be arranged.

Compensation for damage to, or loss of personal possessions will only be considered if Dr Logic can be held to have been negligent. All damage or loss should be reported to your manager immediately. Where there is evidence that the accident or loss occurred through lack of care on your part, compensation will not normally be paid and you should check whether a claim could be made on your personal insurance policy to cover such circumstances. You are advised not to leave any personal possessions or valuables unattended when at work.
Rights of Search
Dr Logic has a contractual right of search in order to combat misappropriation of Company property, stock losses, or if Dr Logic genuinely believes that drugs or any illegal substances are on the premises. The right of search is to address problems relating to the above issues. Under the rights of search procedure, Dr Logic may carry out random checks on the identity, person, and property, including vehicles of employees at any time whilst they are on Company premises or business. It is understood that such checks in themselves do not imply suspicion in relation to the individual concerned. You may be asked to remove the contents of your pockets, bags, vehicle, etc, and you will have the right to be accompanied by a third party who is on the premises at the time of search. If a personal search is deemed to be necessary, you will be entitled to be searched by a member of the same sex. Any refusal will be regarded as a refusal to carry out a reasonable instruction and will normally result in dismissal. Dr Logic reserves the right to call the police for assistance at any stage.
Expenses
You are entitled to claim certain expenses incurred conducting the business of Dr Logic. Any expenses should be claimed in accordance with the Company’s expense policy.
Changes to Employment Status
Resignation
If you’re thinking about leaving Dr Logic, we encourage you to talk to your manager first. We value your presence and would love the opportunity to discuss any concerns or thoughts you have. Whether it’s about your role, career growth, or any other issue, we’re here to listen and support you. Your satisfaction and happiness are important to us, and we want to explore all options to keep you as part of our team.
If after that conversation, you still wish to resign, your contract of employment gives details of the amount of notice that is required. In most cases we would expect you to work your notice period in full.
Lay Off/Short Time Working
If a situation arises where there is a reduction of work, or there is any other occurrence that affects the normal running of the business, the Company has a right to either lay off without pay other than Statutory Guarantee Pay or implement shorter working hours and reduce pay in proportion with the reduction in working hours. This procedure is in line
with your terms and conditions of employment.
The Company also reserves the right to select the employees best suited to carry out whatever work is available.
Employees will be offered alternative work wherever possible.
Employees who are laid off must still be available for work as and when necessary since continuity of service is not affected by any period of lay off.
The Company will pay Statutory Guarantee Pay in accordance with the current government regulations.
Any employee who is laid off for longer than the Statutory Guarantee Pay period will be given a letter to take to the relevant government agency. Employees should then be able to sign on as temporarily unemployed, even though they will still be employed by the Company.
Redundancy Policy
If a redundancy situation arises, for whatever reason, the Company will take whatever steps are reasonable in an effort to avoid compulsory redundancies, for example:
- Analyse overtime requirement
- Reduce hours
- Lay off with Statutory Guarantee Pay
- Ask for voluntary redundancies, whether anyone has plans to retire or is considering a career move
If compulsory redundancies are necessary, employees will be involved and consulted at various meetings to discuss selection criteria, any alternative positions and be given every opportunity to put forward any views of their own.
Employees will be given the opportunity to discuss the selection criteria drawn up
The Company reserves the right to reject any voluntary applications for redundancy if it believes that the volunteer has skills and experience that need to be retained for the future viability of the business.
